Founded in Tampere, Finland, Wirepas was born a rebel — with an idea to build a single sustainable network for IoT that could host hundreds of thousands of devices. Five years and three identity updates later, Wirepas teamed up with Kurppa Hosk to create a new strategy and identity for the brand articulating its position as a true challenger to cellular IoT. With the aim of better addressing the needs of multiple audiences and facilitating ease of use, the idea was to hero Wirepas’ bold ambition. Because nothing looks better than challenging the status quo.
Channeling the challenger spirit of the brand, Kurppa Hosk worked closely with the team at Wirepas to understand the market and the opportunities to do things differently. A new position and identity were developed that captured the attitude of Wirepas while catering to the need of explaining a technical offer in an engaging way. A definitive statement against business as usual in the IoT category.
Building off a new brand strategy and platform, Kurppa Hosk designed an experience that communicates Wirepas’ bold promise: to be rebels in the world of IoT. With solid core components, a strong typographic expression and an idiosyncratic palette, the brand identity is inviting, credible, and flexible – and impossible to ignore.
